As college students, we are all learning how to budget our time and our finances. All students can relate to having a busy schedule or a long commute, so it’s not always easy finding time to visit the library to look for a book or to make use of the computer software provided to us there. Suffolk realizes much of our learning and work is done off campus, and provides students with free and discounted rates on computer programs and software that are essential for classes and homework. Here are a few of the programs Suffolk offers to students that you can download on your personal computer to be able to do work from home and save money. All of these softwares and more can found over at the Suffolk webstore. 1. Microsoft Office 365Suffolk provides students with a FREE download of Microsoft Office 365 Proplus. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are a necessity for classes, and Suffolk provides it to us for free (when the program is usually bought for around $100). 2. Windows 10If you use a Windows operating system, Suffolk provides you with a FREE upgrade to Windows 10, regularly costing $120. 3. Adobe Creative CloudSuffolk allows students to download the Adobe Creative Cloud software for only $19.99 (60% off its original price)! This is a great deal if you’re a NESAD student, graphic designer, or if you design websites and edit photos. 4. ParallelsSuffolk offers a discounted rate of Parallels, a program that allows you access everything on your personal computer from your iPhone or iPad. This program makes it easier to view applications and your desktop from a mobile device. This program usually goes for $49.99, but Suffolk provides the program for only $19.99! 5. DatabasesSuffolk allows students to use the Sawyer library’s academic databases from anywhere using your personal computer. All you need is your student ID number! These databases give students access to books, academic journals, and newspapers that would be very costly to buy. The online format will save you money and a trip to the library! Kayla Sherns,
